Settle Orchestra – Bruckner, Sibelius and Dvořák
Settle Orchestra opens its 2025/2026 season with a rich and evocative programme under the baton of conductor Andre Chan, exploring music of powerful contrast and emotional colour. From bold Romantic gestures to folk-inspired charm, the concert invites audiences on a journey through the expressive heart of 19th-century Europe.
Bruckner – Overture in G minor
Sibelius – Spring Song
Dvořák – Legends Nos. 9 & 10
Dvořák – Cello Concerto (soloist Bob Buller)
The centrepiece of the programme is Dvořák’s Cello Concerto in B minor – a towering masterpiece of the Romantic repertoire. With its sweeping melodies, rich orchestration, and deeply personal character, the concerto has captivated audiences since its premiere in 1896. Settle Orchestra is thrilled to perform with our lead cellist and soloist Bob Buller, whose expressive playing promises to bring out the full emotional depth of this extraordinary work.
