Summer Makers Fair
We’ll be holding our Summer Makers Fair at Gargrave Village Hall on Saturday 10th August, 10 am till 3pm to showcase the work of 29 local artists and makers.
The event is free of charge and is an opportunity to “Meet the Makers” many of whom will be demonstrating their craft during the event.
The Craven area has long been known for its heritage skills, many of which have been passed down the generations or combined with modern techniques to create an eclectic mix of styles. They include Watercolour, Ceramics, Mixed media artworks, Papercrafts, Jesmonite and resin art, Polymer Clay, Gemstone Jewellery, Knitwear, hand spun yarn, Textile Art, Floristry, Crochet, Leathercraft and fused glass art. We are really keen to bring people together to celebrate the skills and experience we have locally and share the joy of making. Around half the makers signed up to the event are from Gargrave itself, with others located in Skipton, Settle, and Barnoldswick.
The café will be serving up light refreshments throughout the event to raise money for the Gargrave and Malhamdale Community Library
