Robert Keep & Mark Butler @ Mill Bridge Gallery
Robert and Mark have just taken over the upstairs studio space. On the Landing there is a changing and evolving exhibition of their work, as pieces sell and new work is created.
Robert is inspired by the scenery around him, from wind swept trees at Yarnbury to reflections on the canal in Skipton. He draws and paints in a variety of media including acrylic, watercolour and charcoal. Robert will usually be in the studio on Thursdays.
Mark is a sculptor working mainly in cast bronze. Although he is using metal – a markedly permanent material – he harnesses chance to create imperfect and fractured pieces, mirroring the impermanence and vulnerability of the environment around him. Influences often have a landscape or scientific background, looking at the layers of information available about a location, or the amazing forms that can be found in the microscopic world and their unseen influence on our world. Mark will usually be in the studio on Fridays.
Open Thurs – Sat 11am – 4pm
Other times by appointment.
