Beyond the Landscape

Opening on September 1st, Just Makers’ first rotating exhibition brings together Yorkshire artists working across painting, mixed media, jewellery, textiles and wood.

The work may differ in material, scale and approach, but each artist uses colour, texture and form to move beyond straightforward representation.

Artists featured include Skipton-based painter Julie Bruce, alongside Emma Butler, Lisa Metcalfe and Julia Poulton, as well as other Yorkshire artists.

The exhibition marks the beginning of a planned programme of changing exhibitions at Just Makers, with new displays set to take place throughout the year alongside the shop’s permanent collection of work by independent artists.

Abstract: Beyond the Landscape opens upstairs at Just Makers on Tuesday September 1st and will run for six weeks.
