As part of Skipton Heritage/Sheep Day on 30th June 2024 and to recognise all things we love about living in and around the Yorkshire Dales, the Foundation for Common Land is hosting the exhibition ‘Legacy of The Land’ at Craven Arts House, Skipton, from 28th June to 17th August 2024.
This exhibition celebrates heritage, land, lives and wildlife captured in poetry, photography, Ceramics, textiles and artwork.
The FCL has a particular focus on uplands commons such as Ingleborough, Grassington Moor and the Howgills; the people, nature and wildlife that live on these beautiful areas, however, the exhibition also includes heritage buildings, local landmarks, other Dales inspired pieces.
The exhibition parallels ‘Labour of Love’ currently at the Dales Countryside Museum, which has a specific focus on people living and working on our upland commons across Yorkshire, Shropshire, Dartmoor and the Lakes. The photography and poetry exhibition by Rob & Harriet Fraser from ‘Somewhere-nowhere’,features our artists from Craven Arts House as well as poetry and archaeology found on Ingleborough and is open until September.
