Autumn Afternoon – Painted Living Garments

Inspired by Luke and Joan’s current exhibition at Skipton Town Hall, ‘Painted Living Garments’, you will learn and develop skills in drawing or painting the clothed figure, focusing on colour and pattern within the garment, and how to translate a harmonious painting.

This will be autumn themed, with expressive use of brushwork to capture pattern and movement.

The model will be wearing one of Joan’s garments, where pattern, design and composition will be established in different mediums.

By the end of the session you will understand harmonious colour and the form of the figure in painting and drawing using expressive design and composition.

Please bring with you your choice of painting materials such as paints, brushes, and canvas/canvas paper, mineral spirits OR acrylic and gouache, and suitable paper and brushes for these mediums.
