DESCRIPTION:\nAdults £22 | Over 60s £20 | Under 25s £5\n\n\nWagner Siegfried Idyll\nRodrigo Concierto de Aranjuez\nDelius On Hearing the First Cuckoo in Spring\nDelius Summer Night on the River\nBeethoven Symphony No.8\nRoberto Carrillo-Garcia guitar\nSkipton Camerata\nBen Crick conductor\nBen Crick celebrates Skipton Camerata’s 20th anniversary conducting Beethoven’s Eighth Symphony and a much-loved guitar concerto.\nGuitarist Roberto Carrillo-Garcia is the soloist in the famously flamenco-infused Concierto de Aranjuez by Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo. The concerto’s popularity owes much to the haunting melody of its central adagio.\nThe concert opens with Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll, written as a birthday gift to his wife and to celebrate the birth of their son. Wagner’s influence is also heard in two short idyllic pieces by Bradford-born Frederick Delius.\nThe concert concludes with Beethoven’s exuberant Symphony No. 8, perhaps the most ebulliently experimental symphony that Beethoven composed.\nMain image: Ben Crick.
