DESCRIPTION:This year marks 80 years since the end of World War II in Europe, and Skipton is proud to honour this historic moment with a series of special events to commemorate Victory in Europe Day.\n\n\n\n\n8:00 AM – Official VE Day 80 Proclamation\nJoin us outside Skipton Town Hall for the official proclamation to mark the beginning of the day’s events.\n\n\n\n6:30 PM – Ringing Out in Celebration of Peace\nListen to the bells ring out in celebration of peace, a reminder of the triumph and sacrifice that shaped our world.\n\n\n\n9:00 PM – Service of Remembrance\nJoin us in the grounds of Holy Trinity Church, Skipton, for a reflective Service of Remembrance as we honour the lives lost and those who served. For all those who wish to lay a wreath, this will be done before the service.\n\n\n\n9:30 PM – Lighting of the Beacon of Peace\nTo close the evening, we will light the Beacon of Peace, a symbol of hope and unity for the future.\n\n\n\nLet’s come together as a community to remember, reflect, and celebrate this significant milestone in history.\n\n
