SUMMARY:Drinking Habits by Tom Smith (Farce)
DESCRIPTION:At the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing, the threat of closure hangs heavy. To keep the convent’s doors open, two resourceful nuns, Sister Philamena and Sister Augusta, have been secretly making and selling award-winning wine behind the Mother Superior’s back. The secret is at risk of being spilled.\nPaul and Sally, two eager local reporters (and former fiancés), catch wind of the illicit operation and go undercover as a priest and a nun to get the scoop. Their sudden arrival, combined with the addition of a new novice, sends the convent into a tailspin. Paranoia takes root as the Mother Superior becomes convinced that spies have been sent from Rome to shut them down.\nWhat follows is a frantic, fast-paced comedy of errors full of slammed doors, chaotic physical comedy, eccentric characters desperately trying to preserve their secrets, and a rekindled spark between Paul and Sally amid the mayhem. Tom Smith’s Drinking Habits is a classic theatrical farce that celebrates the joy of live comedy. Grab your glass and prepare for a riotous evening at Skipton Little Theatre.\nDirected by Tristesse James and Susan Hartley.\nTuesday 10th to Saturday 14th August 2027. Evenings 7.30pm (doors 7.00pm). Saturday matinee 2.00pm (doors 1.30pm).\nTickets £12 adults, £6 under 16s. Included in the £48 2027 Season Pass.\nBook online at TicketSource or call 0333 666 3366 (booking fee applies).\nThis amateur production of DRINKING HABITS is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Playscripts. www.concordtheatricals.co.uk\n
