DESCRIPTION:\nJoin international storyteller Jan Blake, djembe player Mohamed Gueye and musicians of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra for an interactive performance of Ananse and the Monkeys for pre-schoolers.\nAnanse needs some money to buy food so decides to make some hats to sell, but on his way to the market, some monkeys steal them! Can Ananse outwit the monkeys and get his precious hats back?\nJan Blake specialises in folktales and myths from the Caribbean, West Africa, North Africa, and the Arab regions.\nThe BBC Philharmonic Orchestra rehearses as its home in MediaCity, Salford and performs in venues across the North of England, annually at the BBC Proms and internationally.\nMusic is written by Daniel Whibley.\n\nVisit BBC Bitesize for more Musical Storyland films as well as creative resources to explore music with young children.\nSeating will comprise of some limited chairs for adults & beanbags and floor matting for children.\nThere will be an earlier performance for school groups only (10.00-10.45).
