SUMMARY:Settle Orchestra and Langcliffe Singers – Beethoven’s Mass in C
DESCRIPTION:This spring, Settle Orchestra is delighted to reunite with Langcliffe Singers for a powerful and uplifting programme of choral and orchestral masterworks. Following their acclaimed 2023 collaboration on Brahms’ Requiem, the two ensembles once again combine their musical forces—this time for Beethoven’s radiant Mass in C, a work full of tenderness, drama, and luminous beauty.\nThe programme opens with Beethoven’s Egmont Overture, a thrilling depiction of courage and resistance, before moving into Mendelssohn’s contemplative chorale O Haupt voll Blut, a piece of deep emotional resonance that sets the stage for the grandeur to come.\nAt the podium is Settle Orchestra’s 2025–26 conductor, Andre Chan, postgraduate conductor at the Royal Northern College of Music, whose work with ensembles including the RLPO, Hallé, BBC Philharmonic, and Manchester Camerata brings refinement and expressive insight to these monumental works.\nGiven the success of our previous concerts, we recommend that you book your tickets in advance to make sure that you have a seat. They’ll be available from:\n\nForage & Feast in Settle\nSettle Orchestra or Langcliffe Singers members\nthe Settle Orchestra website\n\nTickets: £15 Students and benefits claimants: £7.50 18 and under: Free Essential carers of the disabled: Free\nThey’ll also be available on the door, subject to availability after advance bookings. Tickets booked in advance will be held up until 15 minutes before the performances start at 15:30 and then released for general admission.\n
