DESCRIPTION:\nFree\n\n\nJoin us for the Skipton International Puppet Festival outdoor programme for 2025 at Skipton Amphitheatre!\nWe will be joined by Ay Up Puppet Company, Moving Parts Arts CIO, Rough Magic Theatre & Thingumajig Theatre for six different shows repeated across the day. Timetable to be announced!\nThere are also other activities happening across the weekend, including performances in the Concert Hall, exhibitions and workshops. Please look at the Skipton Town Hall website or our social media for more information.\nA La Puppet Carte by Thingumajig Theatre\nOn the “A la Puppet Carte” menu is a pair of pop up puppet stages built onto the back of electric tricycles. Each mobile stage is a show full of surprises, fun and a heart-warming story of friendship and a sense of home.\nThe Story of the Scary Noise – A doting daddy finds the unexpected (and adorable) source of a mysterious sound.\nThe Magic Samovar – A Persian tea urn opens to reveal the compelling secrets of a world in miniature.\nDelilah The Elephant by Moving Parts Arts CIO\nCome and meet Delilah – a big, blue and beautiful elephant, who loves being stroked and meeting new friends! Delilah enjoys having her trunk tickled and has a particularly good memory if you’d like to tell her a story – elephants never forget!\nEdward Lear’s Nonsense by Rough Magic Theatre\nA comedy walkabout shadow puppet show with live singing of original music performed with a mobile shadow theatre in a suitcase. A truly nonsensical story with food for clothes, “beasticles, birdlings and boys” and what happens when the two come together.\nJabberwocky by Rough Magic Theatre\nLewis Carroll’s epic nonsense poem to magical life! Using shadow puppetry and live singing this is an enchanting and unusual performance for all ages!\nThe Search for Teddy Island by Ay Up Puppet Company\nCome with Bear as they embark on a journey to find Teddy Island. Through this adventure, Bear meets a chip obsessed seagull, calming fish and many creatures that live in the ocean! Learning to cope with the highs and lows of an adventure with grounding mindfulness techniques, Bear discovers that it’s not always the destination that is the best part of a journey.\n\n\nImportant Information:\n\nPlease note that unlike previous years where performances have taken place at the Canal Basin, performances will happen at Skipton Amphitheatre which is located behind Hotel Chocolat, Pizza Express and Skipton Town Hall.\nPerformances are suitable for all ages and range from 10-30 minutes.\n\n\n
